On November 21st, 2024, we had stoma awareness and CPD academic workshop at Dr. Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital in KZN. bringing together healthcare professionals and Ostomates for a day of learning, advocacy, and support. Host was The South African Society of Ostomates ( SASS) non profit organization in collaboration with Ostomate KZN.

1. Faizel Jacobs shared insights on the Ostomy community's needs.
2. Monica Frank (RN) discussed pediatric care for anorectal malformations.
3. Dr. Zaheer Moola emphasized the importance of early colorectal cancer detection.
4. Dr. Shakeel Kader addressed surgical challenges in Ostomy creation.
5. Jolanwyk (RNda JV Noord) educated on post-op wound management and pouching systems.
6. Thobani Mzobe highlighted nutritional management for critical care patients.
7. Duncan Mosie spoke to the fact that Ostomates CAN MOVE

Ethekwini District Manager Ntombifuthi Ngcobo talked about the need for a recognized framework to ensure all Ostomates receive the care they deserve.
